Sen "Alex" Wang

Counsel — Intellectual Property Litigation & Dispute Resolution

Alex Wang is a litigator who defends and enforces intellectual property rights in U.S. federal courts, with a particular focus on the cross-border disputes that increasingly define global e-commerce. He represents both rights holders and accused sellers in patent, trademark, copyright, and trade secret matters, and handles every phase of a case — pre-suit investigation, pleadings and dispositive motions, cross-border discovery, taking and defending fact and expert depositions, witness examination at trial, and oral argument in court.

Much of Alex's practice moves fast. He litigates emergency proceedings including temporary restraining orders, preliminary injunctions, and asset restraints — the mechanisms that decide the outcome of most online IP enforcement actions long before trial. He has extensive experience with the Schedule A–style mass-defendant actions that have reshaped e-commerce litigation, and understands both sides of them: how they are built and prosecuted, and how a legitimate seller caught in one can move to dissolve a restraint, unfreeze accounts, and get out. He develops and executes strategy for serving foreign defendants under Rule 4(f) and the Hague Service Convention, and handles the platform-level enforcement and appeal proceedings on Amazon, eBay, Walmart, Temu, and similar marketplaces that run in parallel with federal litigation.

Alongside litigation, Alex advises clients on the questions that decide whether a dispute happens at all — IP portfolio strategy, infringement risk assessment, validity analysis, enforcement planning, and U.S. product safety and regulatory compliance affecting market access.

Alex is also a certified privacy professional (CIPP/E, CIPP/US). Drawing on his in-house experience as Legal Counsel at a leading global cloud security company, he advises on GDPR, HIPAA, and CCPA/CPRA compliance and negotiates data processing agreements, business associate agreements, privacy addenda, and information security terms — a practice that matters increasingly to cross-border sellers and platforms handling U.S. and European consumer data. He also handles IP and technology licensing, technology transfer, and settlement agreements arising out of disputes.

A native Mandarin speaker trained in law in both China and the United States, and an engineer by background, Alex is a natural fit for Chinese and other international companies facing litigation in the U.S. market.
