THC Lawyers Congratulates SAPA HQ on a Successful 2026 Annual Conference
THC Lawyers congratulates the Sino-American Pharmaceutical Professionals Association (SAPA) HQ on the success of its 2026 Annual Conference, held on September 26, 2026, at the Hyatt Regency New Brunswick in New Jersey. Bringing together more than 500 attendees and speakers, the conference offered a forum for scientific exchange, business discussions, and connections across the life sciences community.
THC Lawyers was pleased to support the conference once again as a sponsor. Our Founder, Dr. Ran He, returned to the SAPA stage to discuss developments in the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS) and the U.S. Data Security Program, including considerations involving sensitive personal and genomic data. His participation reflected the firm’s focus on the legal issues that arise where life sciences innovation, investment, and cross-border collaboration meet. Our colleagues, Sharon Zhang and Hanye Che, also attended the conference.

Ran joined the session on safeguarding business transactions from legal, accounting, and regulatory perspectives, alongside Vincent A. Vietti of Fox Rothschild and Caroline (Yujing) Lu of UHY. The subsequent panel, moderated by Dr. Wansheng (Jerry) Liu of Fox Rothschild, also included Wei Zhang of Natera. The discussion brought together perspectives on investment structures, intellectual property, data rights, and transaction readiness.

For businesses pursuing international growth, these subjects belong in the same conversation. Scientific progress creates opportunities for financing and partnerships, while the proposed ownership structure, treatment of intellectual property, and use of data can affect how those opportunities are pursued. We value opportunities to discuss these issues directly with the scientists, founders, and investors working to bring new therapies and technologies to market.

Beyond the programme, the gathering provided an opportunity to reconnect with longstanding friends and meet new colleagues. Sharing achievements alongside the challenges and work behind them is an important part of the SAPA experience. THC Lawyers is grateful to be part of this community and to continue growing alongside it.

We extend special congratulations to Brian Jiang on his election as SAPA President-Elect. We are also honoured to announce that Dr. He has been elected a Global EC member of SAPA. We look forward to the contributions of SAPA’s continuing and incoming leaders as they support the organization’s next chapter.

Our thanks go to Dr. Wansheng (Jerry) Liu for his invitation and leadership, to our fellow speakers and panellists, and to SAPA’s organizers, volunteers, and supporters. We also thank our THC Lawyers colleagues whose work supported the event. We look forward to continuing these conversations and to future gatherings with the SAPA community.
